The Attic is a small, independent journal about secondhand objects and the craft of keeping them in use.
We aren't a shop and we don't sell what we write about. The point is simpler: to argue, quietly, that repair is usually better than replacement — for the object, the wallet and the world.
Notes from markets and estate sales, step-by-step repairs written by people who learned them the slow way, and the occasional argument about how much restoration is too much. We try to be honest about failures too, because the pieces that didn't survive taught us more than the ones that did.
